The easiest way to reach Cavtat is by air. Dubrovnik has an international
airport, which provides direct or indirect connections via Zagreb to many
European cities. Dubrovnik Airport is 5km from Cavtat; there is no direct
bus connection but we run a constant shuttle (for a small fee) to and
from the airport and Apartments Bacan to meet your incoming flight and
to make sure you arrive at the airport on time for departure!
Buses are an inexpensive way of travelling in Croatia
and to Cavtat. The bus services
are well organised and even the smallest villages have some sort of bus
connection. There are long-distance express buses that are very comfortable.
There are also car-ferry connections with Rijeka, Split and the Italian
coast.
If you decide to come by car you will have the opportunity
to enjoy the beautiful Croatian scenery along the way. To enter and drive
in Croatia you require a green insurance card and a valid national or
international driving licence. Traffic is heavier during the summer months
and parking could be a problem. We offer private parking to our guests!
From Dubrovnik: Cavtat is located about 16km south of Dubrovnik
(about 30 minutes’ drive) on the scenic coast road leading to the airport.
When you reach a village called Zvekovica, turn right off the main road
and take the road to Cavtat centre and Hotel Croatia.
From Dubrovnik Airport: Cavtat is about 5km
from the airport (10 minutes’ drive). When leaving the airport turn right
on to the main road from the airport toward Dubrovnik and continue for
about 3km before turning left off the main road to follow the signs to
Cavtat centre and Hotel Croatia.
After passing the Cavtat town sign, drive on for about 500-600 metres.
Our house is on the right and is fronted by a large ‘Apartments Bacan’
sign and a map of Cavtat. The reception office is on the ground floor.
